QWhy the Faculty of Informatics?

AI wanted to study informatics, and in my third year of high school a senior at Chiba University told me this faculty would be newly established. When I read the website and saw how data science can be applied to areas like weather, medicine, and the environment, I felt it was worth learning and decided to enroll.

QFirst Impressions After Enrolling

AI expected the field to be broad, but after entering I realized it’s even broader. I was surprised to see subjects like design thinking and digital image processing positioned as specialized courses, which made me feel the depth of data science.

QWhat I’m into Now

AMy interest in VR has been growing quickly. I used to think VR was mainly for games and entertainment, but I’ve learned it’s used in education and medicine too. Being at Chiba University, where cutting-edge research is happening, helps me discover new interests as they arise.

QCourse Choice and Future Plans

AI’ll choose between the Data Science Course and the Information Engineering Course when I move into the third year. Until then, I want to study broadly, build solid programming skills, and take time to decide my direction.

High School: Toyama High School (Toyama)

I’m strongly interested in data science but also in VR and game creation—right now I’m treating my first years as a “run-up” period before committing.
