QWhy the Faculty of Informatics?

AI’ve loved games since childhood, and I became interested in creating them too. When I started thinking seriously about university, game development was the first thing that came to mind. I looked for a place to learn programming for making games, and even though Chiba University felt challenging, I decided to aim for it.

QFirst Impressions After Enrolling

AI assumed I would study only programming, but the first year includes many liberal-arts subjects—some unexpectedly creative ones like community building and art-related thinking. I also found classes on computer history and hardware really interesting.

QWhat I’m into Now

AI’m taking courses where I can learn C and system design. I feel like I’m finally starting to learn what I wanted to learn—and to do what I wanted to do.

QCourse Choice and Future Plans

AThe Information Engineering Course has labs focused on AR and VR, and I can’t wait to join one. My near-term goal is to animate avatars inside social VR spaces. In the future, I hope to contribute in the VR division of a game company.

I’m in a computer club where we collaborate to create original games, and I’m also part of a survival game club—enjoying games both virtually and in real life.
